First-Class Mail letters

Print First-Class Letter postage online

Create USPS postage for a standard machinable letter, review any address corrections and the total, then print and mail it yourself.

How it works

  1. 1.Enter the addresses, weight, and envelope details.
  2. 2.Review any address corrections, USPS postage, and service fee.
  3. 3.Print the postage label, attach it correctly, and mail the letter.

What qualifies as a standard letter

  • Rectangular, flexible, and evenly thick.
  • At least 5 inches long, 3.5 inches high, and 0.007 inch thick.
  • No more than 11.5 inches long, 6.125 inches high, and 0.25 inch thick.
  • No more than 3.5 ounces for First-Class Mail letter pricing.

We check the address, size, and weight before checkout. Rigid, lumpy, or oversized envelopes may need a different mail type.

Pricing

You pay the USPS postage quoted for the letter plus the TrackALetter service fee for your selected payment path.

USPS postage + TrackALetter service fee = total shown before purchase.

No subscription is required. Compare payment paths and service fees.

Tracking updates appear when USPS processing data becomes available.

Letter and flat updates come from USPS mail-processing events and aren't guaranteed. An acceptance event may not appear, and updates can be delayed or incomplete. A delivery indication is not necessarily a physical mailbox scan.

Before you print

  • Measure and weigh the finished envelope.
  • Review address corrections before purchase.
  • Print at actual size without scaling.
  • Keep the tracking and postage area clear.
